For the month of July, we are reading The House of Eve, by Sadeqa Johnson.  It’s a daring and redemptive novel set in 1950’s Philadelphia and Washington. DC, that explores what it means to be a woman and a mother, and how much one is willing to sacrifice to achieve her greatest goals.  Fifteen year-old Ruby Pearsall is on track to becoming the first in her family to attend college. A taboo love affair threatens to pull her back into poverty and desperation. We always welcome new members!  Join every 4th Thursday of the month or only on occasion.  Food and drink can be purchased at the restaurant.  There’s always good fellowship.
