For the month of September we are reading “The Nightingale ” by Kristin Hannah.  France, 1939, in the quiet village of Carriveau, Vivienne Mauriac says goodbye to her husband as he heads for the front.  Germany invades France in droves of soldiers, trucks and tanks. A German soldier requisitions Vivienne’s home.  She and her daughter must live with the enemy or lose everything. Meanwhile Vivienne’s sister joins the resistance and never looks back, risking her life to save others.
